Consultant in General & Elderly Care Medicine

I am a consultant in Elderly Care and General Internal Medicine.

I trained at Imperial College London, graduating with MBBs in 2003.

I have a Bsc (Hons) in Neuroscience from Imperial College London.

I undertook training as a junior doctor in the Northwest Thames Deanery working at St Mary’s Hospital and University College Hospital London amongst others.

I completed specialist training in Elderly Care and General Internal Medicine in the Oxford Deanery.

I am a Consultant at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and have over 10 years expericence at consultant level.

My special interests are management of acute illness in the complex older population with a focus on hospital admission avoidance.

As a geriatrician I am adept at managing a broad range of conditions encompassing all aspects of health and illness in older people including falls, continence, cognitive impairment, syncope and poly pharmacy.

I am interested in ageing well and supporting people to remain independent for as long as possible.

I have expertise in complex diagnostic problems, approached with a holistic and pragmatic view.

I am also a trained Medical Examiner working with the coroner to provide safeguards for the public by ensuring independent scrutiny of all non coronial deaths.

I have an interest in teaching and ongoing medical education and have been a lecturer in Geratology for The University of Oxford.
