Consultant in General & Elderly Care Medicine
Victoria is a Consultant in Elderly Care and General Internal Medicine with over 10 years’ experience at consultant level.
She graduated from Imperial College London with an MBBS in 2003 and also holds a BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience. Victoria completed her junior doctor training in the North West Thames Deanery, working at leading teaching hospitals including St Mary’s Hospital and University College Hospital London, before undertaking specialist training in Elderly Care and General Internal Medicine within the Oxford Deanery.
Victoria is a Consultant at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where her clinical practice focuses on the management of acute illness in older adults with complex medical needs. She has a particular interest in avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions and delivering person-centred care that supports patients to remain independent for as long as possible.
As a geriatrician, Victoria has extensive experience in the assessment and management of a wide range of conditions affecting older people, including falls, continence problems, cognitive impairment, syncope and polypharmacy. She is particularly skilled in managing complex diagnostic problems, taking a holistic and pragmatic approach to each patient’s care.
Alongside her clinical work, Victoria is a trained Medical Examiner, working with the Coroner to provide independent scrutiny of non-coronial deaths and contribute to patient safety and public assurance.
Victoria is also committed to teaching and lifelong medical education. She has previously lectured in Gerontology at the University of Oxford and continues to support the education and development of healthcare professionals.
